Christmas

Treyven had a great Christmas!
The little lego train in this picture had been sitting in my closet for quite a while and every time Treyven saw it he wanted to play with it. So he was super excited when he walked in the front room Christmas morning and saw it under the tree.
Can you tell that he was having a good time!!!
Treyven with his Christmas loot. He got a new Sunday outfit, lots of legos, two ties, new pjs, a car rug and a lion puppet.
We thought Treyven would be more into Christmas this year and be excited to rip open presents, but he just wanted to play with his legos.
We decided to see how Treyven would sleep if he had a toddler bed. David took the front of the crib off and the mattress is as low as it will go. We put Treyven to bed and waited to see how he did.
A half hour later I went to check on him and this is what I found. He was asleep on the floor halfway under the crib. SO I put him back in the crib. Half an hour later I went in to check on him again and he was all the way under the crib so David put the front of the crib back on. Treyven is a very active sleeper. When David gets to big for the co-sleeper whatever bed we decide to put Treyven in we will need to buy a side attachment so he stays in the bed.

We have had the cold going around our house. One evening Treyven was walking around sticking his fingers down his throat and choking himself. At first I couldn't figure out why he was doing that and kept telling him "no".  The light bulb finally turned on and I figured out that his throat must be hurting but he doesn't understand that so he thinks something is stuck in his throat and he was trying to choke it out. It was so sad but so cute at the same time. I am always amazed at how the little guy reacts to new things.

Treyven is such a smart boy. He loves to vacuum and even help with laundry. The other day he was helping to start his and David's laundry and I asked him to go put their two laundry baskets away. He took them one at a time and placed them in the closet where we keep them and as he was leaving his room he shut the door behind him.

Treyven has a bad reaction if he gets to much dairy in his system. I forget this so this week we had a bad time with throw up and diarrhea. He is such a picky eater that when we find something he eats that's what we give him and this week it seemed like dairy was all he wanted. :( Poor guy.

Treyven is at the wrong age to take out to eat. He gets so impatient and he tries to do everything himself, so we end up with a big mess. Sorry whoever had to clean up after us tonight.

Treyven is such a happy and loving boy, we are blessed to have him in our family!!!

Big Brother

On Thursday the 13 we had a treat making day at Aunt Alisha's house. Treyven got a little bored and decided to entertain himself with a bowl. What a funny little fellow.
Treyven sure does love his little brother. He is always wanting to give him hugs and always goes over and says "hi".

Lately Treyven has been learning to use silverware. He is getting better at using a fork and drinking out of a regular cup. But boy he sure is messy!

We have been trying to teach Treyven about prayer. We have him kneel or sit with us for evening family prayers and at the table we ask him to fold his arms. At first to him folding his arms was tucking his hands beneath his chin and having his elbows out like chicken wings. Now he is getting the hang of folding his arms. The other morning David was in doing his homework and Treyven went into the study with his arms folded. David said a prayer with him and then a minute later heard the rustle of the cereal bag. Treyven had wanted to pray over his food. He is so stinkin smart! On the 17th mom went back to work. We have a babysitter named Hettie that comes to the house to watch the boys. Mom sure misses her boys when she is at work.

Sitting on Santa's lap. You went up there more to get to the toys and the bag of candy they were handing out.
Haha, mom is busy and I can get in the fridge where the treats are hidden. What a great lunch!
Not sure when this picture was taken :)

On Wednesday the 4th we went to Grandma and Grandpa's ward Christmas party. You had a lot of treats to eat and you had fun running around and seeing Santa. You ate part of a roll and then for the rest of the evening all you would eat is the treats. You are so picky. We came home with some treats in a Styrofoam container and while mom was feeding the baby you got into them and started eating them and making a big chocolaty mess. On Thursday the 6th I had you weighed. You are 23.5 pounds and you are 36.8 inches tall. You are mommas big boy. On the 7th we went to our ward party. You didn't have a whole lot of fun there. It was very crowded and you were fussy. We spent the weekend at the cabin.

16 months

Treyven loves to play in boxes. This is the Christmas tree box. While dad was putting up the tree, Treyven played in the box.
We just love this shirt. It has a skunk which is grandmas favorite animal on it and it says "It wasn't me"
Treyven can get into one of our fridges. I am afraid that he will get stuck in there one day.
Pancakes. I think next to bread his favorite food is pancakes.
More playing in the box. This time he has his blanket and his book.
What a little stinker our Treyven is. He is always on the go. mom cannot look away for a second before he is into something he shouldn't be. Treyven has mastered climbing on the dinner chairs and the table. He can get on the couch and the beds. He tries to climb into the co-sleeper with David. He still tries to steal David's blankets and he grabs David's clothes and tries to pull him around (we don't let that happen). Treyven can say so many words and he understands so much. When asked to go get a diaper he will. He understands when we tell him to get into his high chair to eat. He understands when you ask him if he wants to take a bath. He just is so very smart. He knows who Jesus is and at church he points at the pictures and says Jesus. He can say: David, banana, bread, diaper, brother. yes, thanks. thank you, oh no, book and so many other things. He loves to read. He is just a happy boy and we love him so very much. He likes to take naps and he loves to be outside with dad. Sometimes when we are leaving he will "help" carry the carseat to the car.

Mom took this picture at Great Grandma Humes house. We went to visit her on the 21st. She brought out this rocking chair and rabbit and you loved both!
You went potty in the potty chair on the 20th. Mom really would love to have you potty trained before she goes back to work. You are getting to be such a big boy. YOu can climb up onto chairs, the table, beds and couches. You get into everything. As soon as mom or dad turn their back you run right for baby brother and try to grab at him. We have to keep a really good eye on you. New words that you have said are: David, Thanks, bread and Jesus. You really love bread. Mom has grown accustomed to your big boy haircut :) You take a good nap each morning. Dad puts you down right before he leaves for work and most days you sleep for two hours.

First haircut at a salon.

This week dad took the little guy to get his haircut by Aunt Lucinda. She was going to fix it from when dad cut it last.
Here you are with your long luscious locks awaiting the torture.
 During the process.

The final results. This made mom cry, all your curls are gone. Your hair is so short :(
It will be a while before mom lets anyone near your hair with scissors again!

Haircut number 2

The front before we started.
The back before we started.
The front after.
The back after.
Pile of hair :(

Another haircut for the little man. It was getting out of control and as much as mom hated to do it, well it needed to be done. In places his hair was five inches long. We got asked again tonight if he was a girl.
Now he has short, short hair :( he still has some curls in the back :)
